What’s the key to a good fit?
The metatarsus! Research shows that for a perfect fit, a shoe must adapt snugly to the feet in the area between the instep and the toes – the metatarsus. This is where the most important information about the width of the foot and height of the instep is found.
Feet vary in shape and size, and many people cannot find the perfect shoe, so they have to compromise when buying a new pair. Some buy shoes that are slightly larger than their size because they have wider feet, while some buy shoes they don’t particularly like simply because they fit. Others buy what they like, even if they don’t fit.
